Is Omega-Skinz more rigid?
To some wrappers, Omega-Skinz feels more rigid and thicker compared to many standard wrap films.
This is true, but it becomes as soft as butter when warm.
This is our vision of how a wrap film should behave, stable on boats, cars or motorbikes and stretching only where you want it to.
Very soft films can stretch too easily and show discolouration near bumpers or spoilers.
Omega-Skinz changes that. Simply warm the part you want to shape and it will flow like butter.
Multiple casting layers add depth and structure, but the flexibility returns immediately when heated.
Yes. Most wrapping films are about 85 microns thick and consist of one layer.
Omega-Skinz films have two or even three layers, depending on the colour, for more depth and durability.
3
Does Omega-Skinz consist of multiple layers?
Correct. We design our films like automotive paint, with multiple layers for depth and gloss.
The base layer is cast, rolled, and then recast with a top coat for extra depth or protection.
Some colours even have a third layer when certain pigments, like green or yellow, require opacity.
The result is a rich visual effect and a more stable film that becomes soft and flexible when heated.
4
Why does Omega-Skinz have a grey coloured adhesive layer?
The grey adhesive layer ensures consistent colour on any surface, whether white, black, or otherwise.
Thin translucent films can look different depending on the background colour.
Our grey adhesive eliminates that problem. The only small trade-off is that a grey edge might sometimes be visible, but colour accuracy always comes first.
All current and future colours use the UM Warp6™ Advanced Carwrap Adhesive, which offers better repositioning, clean lifting, and stronger final adhesion.
It allows wrappers to slide, adjust, and apply faster and more precisely. Smooth to start. Strong to finish.
5
Do all colours have air channels in the adhesive layer?
Yes. Every Omega-Skinz film now uses our upgraded UM Warp6™ adhesive with micro air-release technology.
These invisible channels (ICS system) let trapped air escape easily for a perfect, bubble-free finish.
The new adhesive has a milder initial tack and slides more smoothly, giving wrappers maximum control.
Once applied, the final bond becomes even stronger, almost eliminating edge lifting or corner issues.
UM Warp6™, smoother, faster, and more precise wrapping.
6
Why do you sometimes get a small air bubble under the film?
With UM Warp6™ adhesive, this is rare. If it happens, air was probably trapped before the channels fully closed.
These micro air channels are extremely fine, so air escapes more slowly than with older adhesives.
If a small bubble of about 2 to 3 mm appears, do not rub it. Pierce it gently on the side with a pricker or blade and push the air out.
The film will settle perfectly afterward.
7
What should I do when small air bubbles appear under the wrap?
Correct. These micro air channels around the bubble are already closed.
Simply pierce the side of the bubble with a needle or knife tip, then press it out gently.
Thanks to UM Warp6™, this happens much less often than before.
8
What must I do when the edges of my wrap start to curl?
Curling occurs when tension remains in the film or it has not been post-heated correctly.
The proper post-heating temperature is 105°C, not 90°C.
Keep the last two centimetres of the edge loose, heat it thoroughly to release stress, let it cool, then squeegee it down.
The UM Warp6™ adhesive further prevents lifting by increasing final adhesion strength after application.
9
How can I avoid glue lines during wrapping?
Glue lines are rare with UM Warp6™.
If they appear, it usually means the film was squeegeed while still too warm, which softens the glue layer.
Always let the film cool before applying pressure — this ensures a clean, line-free finish.

11
Are matt wrap films more difficult to clean?
Yes. A matt surface is slightly porous and scatters light, which makes dirt settle in tiny dimples.
Especially on lighter colours, contamination is more visible.
To keep them clean, treat them with a special wax for matt car finishes.
12
How do you get matt wrap films clean?
Never use strong cleaners or solvents like benzene, thinner or turpentine, as they push dirt deeper into the film.
Use SOTT Carwrap Film Cleaner with the special sponges.
The gentle soap loosens dirt in the pores while the sponge lifts it out.
Apply in circular motions, rinse with water, and dry with a microfibre cloth.
13
How should I clean textured carbon?
Dirt in textured films is normal, especially in winter when it collects in the grooves.
Do not use a surface cleaner and cloth, as this only spreads the dirt.
Use SOTT slow cleaner with the special cleaning sponges.
They pull the dirt from the texture through circular movement.
Alternatively, choose smooth options such as OS 1917 / OS 1917S Elemento 6 or OS 1978 Dionero Carbon, which do not trap dirt at all.
